Quydrawine, like its namesake, is a barrel blended ale. This time, we drew inspiration from our friend and Richmond legend, Quy Pham. Quy was a cosmic force of positivity and generosity that made Mekong Restaurant a special place to all who entered its doors. In Quy’s memory, we’ve blended a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with a hyper-hopped fresh American barleywine for a big, burley and bold beer that will Kong even the strongest of late night warriors!

This trio of Wyld Sisters (Beatrice, Olivia & Portia) are unique blends of various beer batches, each of which underwent a variety of maturation periods in oak barrels. These wooden vessels provide the perfect habitat for Brettanomyces, whose servitude artistically brings the funk. Different berry varietals were incorporated during the lengthy process to add unique fruit flavors. Cousins to last year’s Wyrd Sisters, Wyld Sisters illustrates our first blending experiment. Hark the wedding bells ring to signify the start of a beautiful relationship between this wild aging/blending project and your wanting lips. This American Pale Ale was hopped with Amarillo and Cascade in the whirlpool and Cascade in the dry hop to give it that classic American Pale Ale hop quality. It was brewed to be especially dry and crisp for easy summertime drinkability.
